Director
Norman Katende is our Co-Founder and an award-winning journalist and seasoned professional in communication, leadership, and management, with a strong focus on culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities. As Director of Hope Afresh, he brings a wealth of experience across community engagement, infrastructure, and major sporting events, where he has successfully worked with diverse stakeholders and fostered inclusive, high-performing environments, with the main aim of giving them peace.
Driven by a genuine passion for people, Norman is a committed community leader and certified Trainer of Trainers. He has partnered with a wide range of organisations and agencies to design and deliver impactful programmes that equip individuals and groups with practical skills in leadership, resilience, and personal development.
His approach is relational, hands-on, and grounded in real-life experience, closely aligning with Hope Afresh’s mission to empower and uplift communities.
Norman is also an author, with his book Parenting, Mentoring and Service: Real Life Stories reflecting his dedication to building a generation grounded in character, values, resilience, and love.
